Hollywood Edition
Usually, I only watch movies in theaters are the action/adventure genre of movies. My reason is that since I'm going to pay to watch this movie, I should be enjoying it. If its not that genre, I will just watch it at home.
There are several international movies I already wrote about here. It's like sharing a list of movies you need to watch before you die. A contribution to this world for the next generations to come. Check out Empire Records, I Am Sam, Dogma, Snatch, American Beauty, Hook, Up and Inglorious Basterds, Gangs Of New York, Desperado, From Dusk Til Dawn, American History X, Jerry Maguire, Fight Club, Airheads and The Matrix Trilogy,
Wall E
This movie is a foresight of Earth's future wherein trees and plants are almost extinct except for one. It showed how humans left our world to look for another planet but came back to Earth to live here again. I love the story and how Wall E sacrificed himself to save the last plant on Earth although he is a robot.
Cowboy Bebop
This movie was based on the famous TV series of the same name. Bounty hunters Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed and the corgi dog named Ein trying to save the universe from a deadly pathogen. I also watched and loved the TV series but this movie nailed it.
Saving Private Ryan
This movie started on D-Day where the invasion of Normandy on Omaha Beach. Starring Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and Vin Diesel among others who were tasked to look for a paratrooper named James Francis Ryan from Iowa. The action packed gun fight and the strong story of the movie has been nominated and won Academy awards.
Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2
Starring Uma Thurman, David Caruso and Daryl Hannah among others is the story of how the Black Mamba went her way to kill Bill. I was so amazed with the knife fights, the sword fights and the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique from several other action scenes from the movie. Directed by Quentin Tarantino and this movie was a gift to Uma Thurman by him.
Ghostbusters Franchise
This franchise which started in 1984 starred Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray among others. This is one of the movies which started and used CGI. Crude, but at that time it was awesome! I also followed the animated series and I even had the comic version. I didn't like the reboot version of the movie though.
Interview With A Vampire
This movie started my fascination with vampires. Based on the novel by Anne Rice, is the story of Louis and Lestat and their chronicles of being a vampire as told in the present time to a reporter. Starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst among others. After this movie, I read enjoyed several novels of Anne Rice.
Forrest Gump
As I watch this movie over and over again, I would think that Forrest is like Jesus Christ reincarnated. With all the good things he did throughout in this movie had made me thought of it. Starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright and Gary Sinise, this blockbuster movie is worth of watching over and over again.
Titanic
The love story of Jack and Rose with how the RMS Titanic sank in the evening of April 15 1912. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and directed by James Cameron, this movie has grossed $2.2 Billion. I even watched this film in a theater four times with different girl dates. I love this film so much and I recommend that this should be watched by every generation of the future.
Joe's Apartment
Cockroaches will inherit Earth when all has been destroyed because of nuclear warfare. And this movie made a point that cockroaches can be funny too. Starring Jerry O'Connell and Megan Ward plus the roaches Ralph and Rodney which was voiced by Billy West and Reginald Hudlin respectively. This movie is so funny and although it not made money in the box office, Joe's Apartment is a winner!
For the next movie tributes, I will be categorizing them. So stay in our blog and rock on!
