Local Edition
I'm a movie fan, especially Filipino movies. I already written several Filipino movies here that if I have a chance to watch it again, I will do it over and over.
Movies like Magnifico, Mistah, My Big Love, Batangenyo Kabitenyo, Pido Dida Series, My Amnesia Girl and Cinco, So here's another list of movies that I love to watch on a playlist.
Batch 81
Starring Mark Gil, Noel Trinidad, Dang Cecilio and Johnny Delgado among others and directed by Mike De Leon. It portrays Alpha Kappa Omega's initiation of new batch members as seen by Sid Lucero (Gil). In this film, it shows how the initiation rites are done when you join a fraternity which is rampant in the 70s and 80s. An excellent movie for the today's generation.
Segurista
When Mount Pinatubo erupted, there were many affected by the lahar and ashfall. And this was the base of the story of Segurista starring Michelle Aldana, Julio Diaz, Albert Martinez, Gary Estrada and Ruby Moreno among others. This movie depicted how a simple province girl has to sell insurance as well as her body just to recover from the devastation of their land from the volcanic eruption. A very good movie.
The Trial
Starring John Lloyd Cruz, Enrique Gil, Jessy Mendiola, Gretchen Baretto and Richard Gomez and directed by Chito S Rono. A mentally challenged person has been accused of raping his teacher. John Lloyd showcased his skills in acting in this movie. A very intense and powerful movie that will move you in one way or another.
Kita Kita
From Piolo Pascual's Spring Film comes the movie Kita Kita starring Empoy Marquez and Alessandra Da Rossi and set in Sapporo, Japan. A tourist guide, Lea, who got visually impaired and was assisted by Tonyo until they fell for each other. A unique and original story that will make you do extra ordinary things for your loved one before its too late.
My Only U
A romantic comedy movie starring Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga. This movie showed us how it is important to show our love to someone with the limited time that was given to us. Things I love about the movie are the actions that Vhong that made to prevent Toni from going abroad and the jokes that was delivered perfectly. Panks tayo eh!
Just The 3 Of Us
Maybe one of the first crossover project between GMA and Star Cinema and a successful one too earning 100 million pesos worldwide. Starring John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, is the love story of the pilot Uno who allegedly got CJ pregnant. A pretty funny and amorous movie that I can watch over and over.
Boyong Mañalac
The story of a hoodlum that became a police officer and wiped out all criminal activities in Malabon. Starring Eddie Garcia, Pinky De Leon and Maita Soriano among others and directed by Eddie Rodriguez. I loved this film for it showcased that a bad person can be corrected and be used for public service. Kudos!
Anak Ni Baby Ama
Starring Robin Padilla, Amy Perez and Ilonah Jean among others and directed by Deo Fajardo Jr. under Viva Films. This is a story of a boy who doesn't know his real identity until she founds out that he is the son of the notorious criminal, Baby Ama. A stellar screenplay and characters were well played. A good action movie that I miss already.
On The Job
Produced and released by Star Cinema starring Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Joel Torre and Angel Aquino among others. A story of hitmen prisoners who do political executions while it is investigated by the police and NBI. An almost true to life story that should be investigated in real life. This is a grand expose using the art of film making.
Ang Kuya Kong Siga
Starring Vic Sotto, Paolo Contis and Christine Jacob among others and directed by Tony Y. Reyes. Supported by Richie D'Horsie and Larry Silva, the crew made me laugh with their delivery of jokes and classic humor. These movies are the classic ones that are timeless even though these humor has already been forgotten.
Public Enemy Number 2
One of the skills of the Eddie Garcia is that he is the most flexible actor there is. And this film has shown how funny he is. Aside from Manoy, Paquito Diaz, Nida Blanca and Dencio Padilla are among the cast of the movie. Although we don't promote polygamy here, but damn this movie is so funny.
Starzan Trilogy
The Filipino parody movie of the character Tarzan, which stars Joey De Leon, Rene Requiestas, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Panchito among others. This movie has the double meaning humor which was not censored before because MTRCB were not that strict. The trilogy were all good and funny and at the very young age, this was humor to me.
Let's support all local movies for it will help improve our art and culture as well as the show business industry also.
Kapish!
