Bands usually are composed of men. But of course we don't discriminate women from playing music too. And they are also good on it with any other men.

And with this, I listed down the 9MM Blogzine favorite women of rock. Here they are in random order.

Alanis Morrisette

An award winning Canadian-American singer, song-writer and actress that made several hit songs with her album Jagged Little Pill. My favorite songs from that album are Ironic, You Oughta Know and Hand In My Pocket among others. She won several awards like the Album Of The Year in the 1996 Grammys and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist in the 1997 American Music Awards among others.

Avril Lavine

Another singer and song-writer from Canada, Avril came in to the music industry in 2002. Her hit songs were Complicated, My Happy Ending and When You're Gone were among the others that are my favorite. She also won awards like Best New Artist In A Video in the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards and Best International Act in the 2007 Virgin Media Music Awards among others.    

Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie is an Australian singer and actress best known for her hit song "Torn". I just known her for that particular song but she did several albums like her debut album Left of The Middle in 1997 and the latest is Firebird in 2021 among others. She also won several awards like Best Song for Torn in the 1998 MTV Europe Music Awards and Best New Artist in the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards among others.

Shirley Manson

The lead singer of Garbage which is known for the songs Stupid Girl, Only Happy When It Rains and Queer among others. She went solo after the band disbanded in 1998 and has been an actor, podcasting and charity work but still do singing.

Gwen Stefani

An American singer-songwriter, producer, fashion designer and actress who is most notable of being the lead singer of the band No Doubt. My favorite songs when she was still with No Doubt were Don't Speak, Spiderwebs and Sunday Morning among others. When she went solo, I am listening to her song Hollaback Girl. She won as the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist award in the 2005 AMA and Best Pop Performance by a Duo With Vocals for the song Underneath It All among others.

Kim Gordon

The singer-songwriter, bassist, guitarist and vocalist for the band Sonic Youth. She also went on being an actor for the movies like Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl among others. She was honored at The Kitchen's Spring Gala in 2015 and also received an Honorary Doctorate from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. 

Courtney Love

She's an actress and the singer, guitarist and songwriter for the band Hole. She was the widow of Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. Courtney also appeared as Althea Leasure in the movie The People Vs. Larry Flynt opposite Woody Harrelson.

Amy Lee

The singer songwriter and musician for the band Evanescence. Amy has this high level voice that is very distinct and a recognizable fashion style. My favorite songs were Bring Me To Life and My Immortal among others. Amy also won several awards including the Sexiest Female in the 2007 Kerrang! Awards and Rock Goddess Of The Year in the 2012 LoudWire Music Awards.

Lisa Loeb

This American singer-songwriter, musician, author and actress has been one my favorite rocker chick. I personally love her songs like Stay, Do You Sleep and I Do. She won several awards like Best New Artist In A Video in the MTV Video Music Awards and Award Winning Song in the 1996 and 1999 BMI Pop Awards.
