In Memoriam
I have been a fan of comic books since I was in high school. Before, I was reading local comics that was being rented from a sari sari store nearby.
Then I discovered some international comics like Ghostbusters and other comics that was published locally. And the after that, a classmate of mine lent me his X-Men comics for me to read. and from then on, I was hooked up. I even drew my favorite characters for my own amusement
Comics will never be the same if not for this man that I will pay tribute to...
Stan Lee
1922 - 2018
Born as Stanley Martin Lieber, He and artist Jack Kirby made Marvel Comics what it is today. He created a huge number of characters that we enjoy in reading as well as in watching movies. The likes of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Spiderman, The X-Men, The Hulk and the Fantastic Four are among his creations. He also revolutionized the movie genre of the comic characters he did. and. When he died of cardiac arrest with pneumonia, the whole universe he created was saddened about it.
Stan Lee was a genius when it comes to comic universe. as if he lived in that world. I remembered when he told someone in the Mallrats movie, that he was all the characters that he had made. Like The Hulk for example, he would be enraged and be that big green hulk guy when he is mad.
I also like Stan Lee when he did cameos for the movies his characters were shown. He will do something you would not expect from him when you watch his cameos.
But I don't like him when he owns a comic character that was created by the artist. That's why Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane left Marvel because of this issue. Nonetheless, Stan Lee stood what he knows right.
A 9MM Salute to Stan Lee who taught us that imagination can be a reality. Rest In Peace and surely your creations are there with you.
