Pinoy Pride
My wait was over. I was highly anticipating this boxing match entitled "The Flash And The Furious" featuring our very own boxers Nonito Donaire Jr., Brian Viloria and other Filipino boxers which will fight for the glory of our motherland.
So after finishing my previous post, I turned on the TV but to my dismay, the match is already finished. It seems I really don't have the perfect timing when it comes to TV schedules. Anyway, here are the recaps.
Brian "The Hawaiian Punch" Viloria vs. Ulises Solis
It got up to the 11th round until Viloria hits a solid right hook punch to knockout opponent Solis to regain his IBF Light Flyweight Championship belt from the Mexican. After the match, The Hawaiian Punch got emotional and cried for his triumph to the millions of Filipinos watching the fight.
Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire Jr. vs. Raul "Cobra" Martinez
Donaire lived up to his name after finishing his American-Mexican opponent Martinez on the fourth round of their boxing match held in Araneta Coliseum, QC, Philippines. It took 4 knockdowns for The Cobra before the referee stopped the fight to give fans watching roaring for victory. The Flash used his left and right hooks to tame The Cobra. Donaire improved his record to 21-1-0.
Congratulations also to our other fellow Filipinos who also won their undercard fights. Drian Francisco, Denver Cuello, Sonny Boy Jaro who also knocked out their corresponding opponents before the main event. Mabuhay ang Filipino!
Kapish!
