Most Anticipated Movies in 2009

Screening Forward

While I'm waiting for my Oscar Winner movie to be downloaded, I thought of something I need to post on my blog today. Since I ran out of things to write about, maybe I could share to you my top 9 most anticipated movies for the year 2009. Read on and watch the trailers and teasers of these movies to see which of them would top the box office.

Fast and Furious - April 3
Bringing back the original stars of this franchise built on speed. Paul Walker and Vin Diesel joins Michelle Rodriguez and others to show off exotic cars, run and chase back to the streets where it all began. From the streets of Los Angeles through the Mexican desert, they will burn the roads with this high speed action-thriller at number 9.

Watchmen - March 6
At number 8 is a movie based on a famous DC Comic series. A complicated mystery adventure that involves Rorschach - a masked vigilante, discovering a troubling conspiracy about a group of people whose mission is to watch over humanity. Starring Patrick Wilson and others.

Angels & Demons - May 15
From the team that brought "The Da Vinci Code" comes the much awaited prequel from the bestselling author Dan Brown. At number 7, Tom Hanks plays Robert Langdon again in discovering sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals and a 400 year old trail of ancient symbols that will be Vatican's only hope for survival. Against whom? An ancient secret brotherhood and the most powerful underground organization in history - The Illuminatti.

G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra - August 7
I once played these action figures way back when I was a kid and now they're on the big screen. The elite G.I. Joes used state of the art spy and military equipments to prevent a crooked arms dealer Destro and his growing threat of the Cobra Organization to manipulate chaos in the world. Dennis Quiad plays Duke and directed by Stephen Sommers ("The Mummy", "The Mummy Returns"), G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra goes at number 6.

2012 - November 13
As predicted by the Mayan Calendar, 2012 is when the world ends. At number 5, 2012 is a date that is very significant to so many cultures, religions and scientists that would bring an epic adventure of the struggles made by the survivors. Starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover and Woody Harrelson among others.

Astroboy - October 23
At number 4, Astroboy flies and reaches the big screen with this animated film. A story of a robot with incredible powers that he used to save everything he cares about. Created by Tenma(voiced by Nicolas Cage) to embrace his destiny as a hero.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - May 1
X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes in at number 3 with none other than Hugh Jackman playing the lead role. It tells the story of the violent, romantic and complex roots of the X-Men character involving Victor Creed and the Weapon X Project. Other familiar, old and new X-Men characters will also participate in this movie making it more action packed.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - June 24

The second installment of The Transformers franchise is on number 2. This explosive sequel will join Sam Witwicky(Shia Lebeouf) and the Autobots to engage in a war against their nemesis, The Decepticons. I hope there will be more Autobot and Decepticon characters in this much awaited sequel.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - July 17
The 6th installment of the most popular wizard, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is my number 1 most anticipated movie. Harry Potter struggles to fight Voldemort and the Deatheaters as his friends are also busy with their own issues. A death of a main character would change Hoggwarts forever. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.
