In Memoriam Local 2024

There is an end to every beginning. But it really doesn't end... its just another journey to take. Every year, I do this to commemorate those who passed on to the other side.

These are the Filipino people that needs to be remembered by this blog since they touched the life of Stone-Cold Angel in one way or another.

Jaclyn Jose (1963 - 2024)

This award winning Filipino actress died with heart attack as the cause of her death. Jaclyn Jose will be remembered with her exceptional acting and deliverance of this line from the movie A Secret Affair - "B**** ka lang! Ako, Super B****!!!"

Lydia De Vega (1964 - 2022)

A Filipino track and field athlete. She was considered as Asia's fastest woman in the 1980s.

Yoyong Martires (1946 - 2024)

This basketball player turned actor/comedian the as a politician died from pneumonia. I always liked his character in his comedy films that he always shouts and yell.

Lualhati Bautista (1945 - 2023)

A Filipino author, writer and critic died from unknown cause. She is famous with her books that made into movies like "Dekada '70" and "Bata, Bata... Pa'no Ka Ginawa?" Watched the movies but I haven't read her books.

Kokoi Baldo (1979 - 2023)

A reggae singer who was a semifinalist on the TV show The Voice  Philippines. I will always remember his music especially when he sang his version of  Matisyahu's One Day.

Carlo J.  Caparas (1943 - 2024)

A Filipino comic strip creator and writer - turned film director and producer. He is most famous with the creating comic character Panday which was turned into film with Fernando Poe Jr. as the protagonist.

Ricky Rivero (1972 - 2023)

A Filipino actor and director. I always remember as a character or supporting actor in several TV shows and movies. The latest as Big Boy Carnate in the Praybeyt Benjamin movie.

Lily Monteverde (1938 - 2024)

She is the producer and owner of Regal Films Productions responsible for the rise of our 9MM Girls like Dina Bonnevie, Ara Mina and Angel Locsin among others. I remember that they were the only film production that premiered a movie on a weekly basis back in the 80s.

Helen Vela (1946 - 1992)

A radio / TV personality as well as an actress. She was well known as hosting the TV show Lovingly Yours, Helen. I remember watching her during my childhood days every Sunday afternoon before taking my nap.

Julie Vega (1968 - 1985)

An actress, singer and model. I remember her as the protagonist of the TV show Anna Liza and the film that I'm still traumatized by Lovingly Yours, Helen The Movie where she acted as a demon possessed victim.

Michael Pelaez Apurillo (1974 - 2024)

He is not a celebrity or anything. He is just a normal person and he is literally my biological brother. He may not be able to read this, but he deserves a page in this blog as anyone else. Rest peacefully, Kuya Mike!

May all our loved ones who ventured on to the other side, may find their peace and happiness that they all deserve and did not experienced in this life. Rest In Paradise!

Kapish!
